Jesus Magana

As an experienced Project Manager and longtime education advocate, Jesus Magana is familiar with the existing challenges and barriers that many first-generation, low-income, and other historically underrepresented student groups face in pursuit of their education, career development, and upward social mobility.

In his current role as Early College & STEM School Program Manager with the Chicago Public School District, he develops strategic partnerships that advance an agenda promoting access to higher education & certification attainment in STEM and Healthcare careers. Jesus’ extensive experience in postsecondary programming, has established him as a leader on topics ranging from college access to workforce development having served on various committees and boards that seek to empower Latino’s in the City of Chicago.

Jesus is a lifelong resident of the southwest side of Chicago and lives in Little Village with his wife Isabella, a healthcare professional, and their 2-year-old pup, Cardi. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Jesus enjoys exploring Chicago’s vast and thriving restaurant scene and is an avid sports fan, tailgating and attending games regularly at Guaranteed Rate, Soldiers’ Field, and the United Center.
