Youth Unity Organization


On May 7th, 2018, Alderman Danny Solis joined forces with Congressman Luis Gutierrez and Cook County Commissioner, Jesus Garcia, to rally behind the Youth Unity Organization, supporting our one million DACA eligible youth and five million U.S. citizen children with undocumented parent(s) to form a new youth movement.

On April 28th, 2018, Alderman Solis made a donation towards two DACA Scholarship Recipients awarded through the involvement of the Chicago Dia De Los Ninos Annual Parade. Stephany Ruiz is a freshman at UIC, and Yuliana Salgado is a senior at Benito Juarez Community Academy.

Chicago Food Depository


Sept. 19, 2017 - The Chicago Food Depository’s Elected Official Volunteer Day invited elected officials from throughout Cook County to volunteer in packing food and non-perishable items for families in need.

Mexico Earthquake Relief
