Sarai Guerrero

With over eight years of experience in public relations, event planning, and nonprofit and government affairs, Sarai has built her career on fostering relationships that support both community and economic growth.

Sarai is the Director of Development & Community Advancement at Urban Warriors in Little Village, Chicago. She is dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission of empowering young people through sports, wellness, and leadership development. In her role, she leads development and fundraising efforts, cultivates new partnerships, and manages public relations initiatives to ensure the work of Urban Warriors reaches and resonates with the broader community.

Previously, Sarai worked at the Little Village Chamber of Commerce, collaborating with small businesses to drive economic growth, promote community engagement, and organize events that showcased the neighborhood’s cultural vibrancy and small business spirit, including the Mexican Independence Day Parade in Little Village.

Throughout her career, Sarai has focused on collaboration, storytelling, and advocacy, believing that lasting change happens when communities are engaged and supported. She brings a strategic, hands-on approach to every initiative, delivering tangible results while fostering authentic relationships that strengthen both organizations and the communities they serve. 

Sarai’s passion for community and youth empowerment is personal and deeply rooted in her experiences. She believes that true community development cannot happen without building healthy communities, and that economic growth cannot be achieved without investing in the people and neighborhoods that sustain it. Her leadership is defined not only by her professional expertise but also by her dedication to uplifting others, amplifying community voices, and ensuring that Little Village and Chicago residents have access to the opportunities they deserve so that all have a seat at the table.
