Marcos Ceniceros
Marcos Ceniceros is the Executive Director of Warehouse Workers for Justice (WWJ), a worker center organizing with warehouse workers across Illinois to win safer workplaces, fair wages, and dignity on the job. With more than a decade of experience in community, labor, and electoral organizing, Marcos leads with a deep commitment to racial and economic justice and a clear vision for transforming oppressive systems that target the most vulnerable.
Born and raised on Chicago’s southwest side to immigrant parents from Zacatecas and Jalisco, Marcos is a proud first-generation Mexican American. As the eldest in his family, he witnessed firsthand the struggles and resilience of working-class families striving for a better life. Those early experiences shaped his belief in the power of collective action and continue to ground his nearly 15 years of organizing for social and economic justice.
Alongside his work in labor and community organizing, Marcos has spent more than 12 years building progressive political power across Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois. He has worked on campaigns at every level including city, county, state, school board, and congressional by helping lead field operations, develop strategy, and mobilize thousands of voters to advance candidates and policies rooted in equity and justice.
Before leading WWJ, Marcos served as a Campaigns Organizer at the Grassroots Collaborative and as a longtime community organizer with the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, where he organized with young people and community members on issues regarding immigration, education, government budgets, and building collective power.
At WWJ, Marcos has driven the organization’s growth, strengthened board governance, and built structures that center equity and collective leadership. His work focuses on supporting Black and immigrant workers, developing grassroots leaders, and using organizing, research, and policy advocacy as tools for systemic change. He currently serves on multiple state task forces, is Board President of Raise the Floor Alliance and Warehouse Workers Action, and holds board seats with Jobs with Justice and the Spanish Community Center.
